We could not find sea moss gel that met our standard.
So we created it ourselves—from a pressed-juice business in Kuala Lumpur to Isle of Moss.
From a Kuala Lumpur Juice Kitchen
We did not set out to sell sea moss. We started as a juice business in Kuala Lumpur, and like many others, we had heard about sea moss and wanted to add it to what we were already making. It sounded simple. It wasn't.
We sourced sea moss from different suppliers and spent time testing what was available. What we actually wanted was the gel — the properly prepared, ready-to-use version. In Malaysia, finding one that met our standard proved difficult.

The Quality Problem & The Strain Few Discuss
The Local Quality Problem
Most of what we found locally was not good enough. The quality was inconsistent, and we would not have been comfortable using it in our own drinks, let alone selling it.
Reliable suppliers are hard to find. Many make claims they cannot properly support — especially the word “wildcrafted”. In reality, it is difficult to verify where most sea moss actually comes from.
The Strain Few Discuss
Many products are labelled “Irish Sea Moss” even when they are not from Ireland and are not the correct species. The name is used because it sells, not because it is accurate.
Our Gold jar is wildcrafted Eucheuma cottonii from St. Lucia — not Chondrus crispus (true Irish moss). We list the species on the label so you can see exactly what you are buying.
